The Enchanting System in Lineage II is one of the core mechanics for improving your weapons and armor, allowing players to increase power and unlock hidden potential. While it can greatly enhance your gear, it also comes with significant risks.
This guide explains how enchanting works, what to expect at each stage, and tips to maximize your success.
๐น How Enchanting Works #
- Enchant Scrolls are required to upgrade items. Each scroll corresponds to the item type:
- Scroll: Enchant Weapon (DโS Grade)
- Scroll: Enchant Armor (DโS Grade)
- To enchant, double-click the scroll and select the item.
- Each successful enchant increases the itemโs stats, such as P. Atk., M. Atk., or P. Def.
๐น Safe Enchant Levels #
- Weapons: Safe up to +3.
- Armor/Shields/Jewels: Safe up to +3.
- Any enchant beyond this point risks destroying the item upon failure.
๐น Blessed vs. Normal Scrolls #
- Normal Scrolls: Failure destroys the item completely.
- Blessed Scrolls: Failure resets the item back to +0 instead of destroying it.
- Crystal Scrolls (rare): Offer a higher chance of success and sometimes add special effects.
๐น Success Rates #
- The higher the enchant level, the lower the success chance.
- After +10, enchant chances drop drastically.
- Going beyond +16 is considered extremely rare and often reserved for high-end players.
๐น Special Notes #
- Over-Enchant Effects: Some weapons glow with a special visual aura at certain enchant levels (+7 and above).
- Market Value: Highly enchanted items can be worth many times their base price, but are also more difficult to sell due to rarity.
โ๏ธ Tips for Players #
- Always enchant spare items firstโnever risk your only weapon.
- Use Blessed Scrolls whenever possible to reduce risk.
- Stop at a safe level (+6/+7) if you want steady power without risking total loss.
- Save high-risk enchants (+10 and above) for endgame when you have Adena and backups.
๐ Mastering enchanting is about balancing risk and reward. A well-enchanted weapon can make your character unstoppable, but reckless attempts can wipe out months of progress.
